What can Laser Cutter Workshop cut?
We can laser cut plastics, woods, rubbers, foams, and papers as long as they do not contain chlorine, such as PVC. Below is a list of common materials we can cut.
- Woods (MDF, balsa, birch, poplar, red oak, cherry, holly, etc.)
- Depron foam
- Acrylic (Plexiglas, Lucite)
- Delrin (Acetal)
- PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol)
- Two-tone acrylic – top color different than core material, usually for custom instrumentation panels, signs, and plaques.
We cannot cut the following materials:
- Polycarbonate (Lexan)
- PVC (Sintra PVC foam board)
- Any material containing chlorine (PVC, Vinyl)
- Metals – We cannot cut through any metals. However we can etch graphics in to anodized aluminum and some harder metals using a special laser applied dye.
- Glass – we can engrave glass, but we cannot cut it.
- Fiberglass
- Carbon fiber
